They’re now available through the Pookey Pockets store on Ozebaby so come on over and take a look! plague notice!!

Due to a gastro plague that is currently working it’s way through my family, the Pookey Pockets shop will be temporarily closed until such time as we are all better again! Hopefully things will be back to normal again next week (Tues 19/8/08), but please call me to double check if you are unsure. (contact numbers at right of my homepage)
Orders can still be placed through the website or via email, and will be filled as soon as I’m back at the shop again.
Thanks for your understanding, and please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

*cough*sniffle*blow-your-nose!

Yep, you guessed it, we’ve all been hit by the winter sniffles that have been going around. It is truly amazing how many tissues a family of 6 can go through in a week! (been trying to convince them that hankies are a good alternative, but not having much luck yet!) Things are getting back to normal though now, which is good, because last week I felt rather like I’d been hit by a freight train!

The good news for the week is that microfleece is back in stock! YAY!!!

Thirteen gorgeous colours to choose from - details and photos will be up on the website in the next couple of days, once my internet is no longer speed-limited (but that’s another whinge altogether, so I’ll save that for another post!)

Finding space for all the rolls at the shop is going to be an interesting exercise though! *giggle*

I’ve also got minkee/Malden Mills fleece covers in stock at the shop, again details should be uploaded to the website very soon! Otherwise feel free to email me for details.

And last but not least, there’s some new products that will be available at the shop soon - Popit nappies, from NZ, and a range of ribbon goodies from Ribbonista. Oh, and a few special products from Pookey Pockets will be previewing at Ozebaby later next month, so stay tuned…

do you believe in fairies??

I’ve spent a lot of time today updating websites and blogs and stuff, so thought I should write something on my blog while I was on a roll!

I’ve been flat out lately preparing for a special project for June. All will be revealed over the next couple of weeks, just stay tuned, and keep your ear to the ground (so to speak).

Have you joined the Australian Nappy Network yet? The ANN is a non profit organisation promoting the health, environmental and financial advantages of reusable nappies. Join now to show your support for the cloth nappy community, and be the first to hear about special offers for members.

And because all good blog posts need a picture to make them interesting, here’s some wetbags that I’ve been working on recently.

bits and pieces

I’m waiting on some microfleece before I can get these sewn and listed, but thought I’d post some photos to give you an idea of what’s in store in the coming weeks. Mandy has been very busy!

hmmm, I’ve been tagged…

By Lesley from Cherub’s Kiss and I’ve only just found out about it when I was reading her blog tonight! I really should keep up with things better!!

OK, so apparantly these are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven facts about me.

1. I never wear shoes. Honestly, ask anyone who knows me!

2. I used to have black and green hair. It’s boring brown now, and has been for ages, but one of these days I’ll get around to doing something exciting with it again!

3. I hate housework. Especially having to do the same things over and over again day after day because they don’t just stay done, dammit!!

4. I love reading, but since my internet addiction took over, I haven’t had as much time to read lately!

5.  I changed the spelling of my name when I was a teenager. The teachers at highschool used to joke about taking off marks on exams for spelling my name wrong (haha, sooo not funny!) but I eventually did it officially by deed poll when I was 18. Why bother? Well, when I was at primary school there were 2 Rebecca’s in my class. (under 30 kids in the class) At highschool, there were 5 Rebecca’s in my year level (out of about 75 girls). I just wanted to be different (yep, that’s a recurring theme in my life!) so I changed it to Rebekah. And yes, I’ve spent the last 14 years correcting people when they spell it wrong!

6. I studied music at university for a couple of years, but never actually finished the degree. :(

7. I’m missing a tooth - one of the ones between the front teeth and the pointy teeth. (ok I know it’s probably got a real name, but I’m too lazy to Google it!)

So there you have it, 7 things about me.

And now I have to come up with 7 other people to tag, which is way too hard for this time of night! So I’m going to post what I’ve written so far, and update the post once I think of some people to tag!

looking for something??

It’s that time again! We are proud to announce Hunter registrations are open for the fourth semi-annual Great Down Under Nappy Hunt™! How does the GDUNH work? It’s simple! You register here now. Then you visit all the participating sponsor sites and hunt for the Diaper Decisions™ nappy, to earn entries to the 47 random prize drawings, including Three Grand Prizes! Prices are worth in excess of $4000.

For more details about this great event, please visit the Rules and FAQ pages. See you at the hunt!

If you get stuck whilst hunting, please visit the official Hint Forum and ask for help. Sponsors will not be giving out hints however in the first few days of the hunt. Remember it is a competition. Posting of hints and help on other forums will be construed as cheating, and you may be banned from this and further hunts.

Oh, and for any hopeful hunters reading here hoping to find their next clue, I’m afraid you’re on the wrong track - there’s no clues here on my blog this year!

January 20, 2008

moving day!

And don’t we all just love moving!

Actually, it was surprisingly painless - everything was packed up nicely and ready to go (thanks Lesley, Donna and Mel!) and we discovered that the loading dock at the old place was really useful for getting all the furniture into the truck!
Despite ‘occasional showers’ being forecast, we managed to get everything into the new premises before the rain too, so that was lucky! (not so lucky for DH’s washing that was on the line at home, but you can’t have everything perfect!)

So now I just need to get all the boxes unpacked, and take the rest of the fabric over (it’s currently blocking up my sewing room here at home so I can barely get in the door!)

Anyway, here’s some photos of the current chaos ;o)

more photos once I get organised!

a few photos…

as promised, here’s a few photos of the new shop, taken before the ‘big cleanup’. I had no idea how big it really was until I had to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the floor!!!

We’ll be moving all the furniture in this weekend, so it should be looking more like a shop next week!
